RoadSafe Europe Limited are providers of Driver CPC Periodic Training approved training courses, a scheme for professional LGV drivers that will be implemented by 10th September 2009.
The Driver CPC is being introduced to improve the knowledge and skills of drivers, which in turn will:
- Improve road safety;
- Support the logistics industry by providing savings through more fuel efficient and defensive driving (and therefore also help the environment);
- Help with staff recruitment and retention;
- Raise the profile of the driving profession through maintaining skills levels, improving career opportunities and enhancing the image of drivers as 'professionals';
- Reduce vehicle wear and tear.
New drivers acquiring an LGV entitlement (C1, C1+E, C or C+E licence) after the 10th September 2009 will have to obtain an initial CPC as part of that licence (RoadSafe are currently not intending to offer initial courses).
Existing drivers who already hold an LGV licence (with a few exceptions) on the 10th September are exempt from the Initial CPC. They must however receive a total of 35 hours of Periodic training before September 2014, and for every five years thereafter to maintain the validity of their CPC.
Please also note that the Driver CPC is a different qualification, and has no connection to the CPC qualification required for Operators' Licence compliance. If you hold an Operators' CPC, you will still require the Driver CPC.
Also remember that both Initial and Refresher ADR training courses can count toward your Driver CPC Periodic training.
We shall be holding open courses at our Southampton training centre (dates to be confirmed), and would be pleased to arrange extra dates for individual companies who wish to train groups of drivers, either in our fully equipped classroom (for a maximum of twenty trainees), or nationwide at their own premises, if suitable facilities exist, with no restriction on class sizes.
Our Southampton training centre is fully accessible under the Disability Discrimination Act.

- Accident procedures and basic First Aid (7 hours)
