This intensive three-day course is designed around the functions performed by shippers, freight forwarders and cargo personnel. It combines detailed regulatory instruction with practical exercises and formal assessment.

Practical, function-focused learning
The course goes beyond simply reading the regulations. Delegates work through realistic examples and learn how to make the decisions required when preparing an air shipment.

This practical approach helps delegates understand not only what the regulations require, but how to apply those requirements consistently in the workplace.
Delegates will require access to the current edition of the IATA Dangerous Goods Regulations which will be provided by Roadsafe for loan.
Assessment and certification
Delegates complete practical exercises throughout the course followed by a formal assessment covering the functions addressed by the programme.
A CAA approved training certificate will be issued to candidates who meet the required assessment standard.
Dangerous-goods recurrent training and assessment must normally be completed within 24 months. Earlier retraining or reassessment may be required where an employee’s responsibilities change, competence cannot be demonstrated or a significant regulatory or procedural change affects the employee’s work.
A training certificate records successful completion of the specified course and assessment. It does not remove the employer’s responsibility to verify that the employee is competent to perform the job in the employer’s own operational environment.
